Music & Worship

for the last two decades, Ted Hayes has led our music ministry and the traditional worship service. Ted has a Master of Church Music degree with emphasis on Organ performance, with minors in Choral Conducting and Voice. He is extremely committed to the future of First Presbyterian Church and does amazing job utilizing classical music, beloved hymns, and Gospel songs.

Diane is our exceptionally talented pianist & accompanist at the 11:00 worship service, whose heart for the Lord guides her passion and talent. She accompanies the choir and also performs worshipful piano solos across a variety of musical genres.

The Praise Band is a group of volunteers that use their musical talents at the 9:00 informal worship service. They work hard to constantly learn new songs and they bring a variety of different flavors to the worship music at this service.

The Sanctuary Chancel Choir is a group of volunteers, led by Ted Hayes, who love a wide variety of worship music and who enjoy uniting their voices to the glory of God every Sunday. The choir rehearses weekly and is always open to newcomers (contact Ted Hayes for an interest meeting), who immediately sense the committed “family” feel of the choir.

The Chancel Handbell Choir is a special, dedicated group within the music ministry who are adept at reading music and performing on these gorgeous, melodic percussion instruments. The Handbell Choir regularly accompanies the congregational hymns and also prepare solo works for the enhancement of worship.

Throughout the year, the music ministry puts on concerts and special worship experiences that guide our church year (i.e. Christmas Concert and the Maundy Thursday Worship Program). Stay tuned on the website for announcements about our upcoming music events.
